This cocktail has a rich, smooth, and elegant taste that is characterized by a twisted orange peel. Old-fashioned cocktails include the basics, sugar, water, dashes of bitters, and whiskey. <\/p>\n<p>The classic recipe for an old-fashioned is simple, but individuals\u2019 personalities can flare when it comes to the type of whiskey they choose to put into it. There is a variety of ways to customize an old-fashioned. If you like a spicier drink, you might want a rye whisky, or if you like things a little sweeter, a bourbon might be the best option for you. Whatever your preference may be, we have found four recipes that will quench your thirst and have you feeling classic. <\/p>\n<p>Classic Old-Fashioned <\/p>\n<p>To start, we have found this classic old-fashioned cocktail recipe on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdkitchen.com\/recipes\/recs\/218\/Classic-Old-Fashioned141170.shtml\"><em>Cdkitchen website<\/em><\/a>. This recipe takes about 5 minutes to make and creates one serving. <\/p>\n<p>Ingredients<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2 teaspoons simple syrup<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon water<\/li>\n<li>Two dashes bitters<\/li>\n<li>1 cup of ice cubes<\/li>\n<li>One jigger (1.5 fluid ounce size) bourbon whiskey<\/li>\n<li>1 orange twist<\/li>\n<li>1 maraschino cherry<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Instructions<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Stir together the simple syrup, water, and bitters in a whiskey glass. Add the ice to the glass.<\/li>\n<li>Slowly pour the bourbon over ice. Garnish the cocktail with an orange twist and maraschino cherry.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Maple Old-Fashioned<\/p>\n<p>With fall upon us and winter coming soon, we thought this recipe was a good fit. It is a sweeter version of a classic old-fashioned, with hints of nutty and maple flavors. This cocktail recipe can be found on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gastronomblog.com\/maple-old-fashioned-a-bourbon-cocktail\/\"><em>Gastronom Blog<\/em><\/a> and would be a great addition to any Thanksgiving or Christmas meal. <\/p>\n<p>Ingredients<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>.75 oz maple syrup<\/li>\n<li>Four dashes of Angostura bitters<\/li>\n<li>2 oz bourbon<\/li>\n<li>Orange peel for garnish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Instructions<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Add bitters, maple syrup, and bourbon to a rocks glass.<\/li>\n<li>Add a large ice cube.<\/li>\n<li>Stir until chilled and maple syrup dissolves into the bourbon.<\/li>\n<li>Garnish with an orange peel and brandied cherry, if desired.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><strong>Brown Sugar Old-Fashioned  <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here is a recipe that takes the classic old-fashioned recipe and twists it with additions of cinnamon and brown sugar flavors. We found this recipe on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.delish.com\/cooking\/recipe-ideas\/a30121084\/brown-sugar-old-fashioned-recipe\/\"><em>Delish.com<\/em><\/a> and yields one serving. <\/p>\n<p>Ingredients<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 tsp packed brown sugar<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp water<\/li>\n<li>Two dashes Angostura bitters<\/li>\n<li>2 oz bourbon<\/li>\n<li>Ice<\/li>\n<li>Orange peel, for garnish<\/li>\n<li>Cinnamon stick, for garnish<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Instructions<\/p>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li>Add sugar, water, and bitters to glass. Muddle sugar until dissolved.<\/li>\n<li>Add bourbon and ice. Stir to combine.<\/li>\n<li>Garnish with an orange peel and cinnamon stick<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p><strong>Vanilla Old-Fashioned Cocktail  <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With a hint of vanilla, this recipe is a great spinoff of the classic old-fashioned cocktail recipe. This recipe can be found on <a href=\"https:\/\/creative-culinary.com\/vanilla-old-fashioned-cocktail-recipe\/\"><em>CreativeCulinary.com<\/em><\/a>, takes 5 minutes to prepare, and serves one. <\/p>\n<p>Ingredients<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>.25 oz simple syrup<\/li>\n<li>3 dashes Angostura bitters<\/li>\n<li>3 dashes Orange bitters<\/li>\n<li>Orange peel twist<\/li>\n<li>5 oz Crown Royal Vanilla<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Instructions: <\/p>\n<ol start=\"10\">\n<li>In an old-fashioned glass, combine simple syrup and bitters.
