This bag is like an old friend at this point
My parents bought me one of these packs in 1999, just before starting my sophomore year in high school. It held up through the next 3 years of high school, and then 5 years of college, getting daily use (and I definitely wasn't easy on it)!

I had it repaired at the factory once after owning it for about 5 years (thanks for the lifetime warranty!), and have continued using it for daypack purposes and traveling now that I don't need it for schoolbooks.

I used it to pack my clothes when I went home to visit my parents this summer, and my dad commented that he sure got his money's worth when he bought me the bag.

the best backpack i own
i come from a family of Duluth pack owners. my grandpas still rests out on our garage wall ready at any moment for a camping trip or canoe trip. ive had mine for about 5 years now and its by far the best bag i have ever had,or could ever ask for. now i am serving in the USAF,and needless to say it was the first thing i grabbed. my pack is better then any military issued bag,and fifty times more durable. i just wish it was in regs!! Best backpack you could ask for.
My father bought me a khaki version of this backpack over 10 years ago. I have used it nearly everyday without a single problem, malfunction, or complaint. Not one of the buckles, zippers, or rivets has ever given me trouble or broken. It is amazing how well it is held up despite being used as hard and as often as it is. Greatest backpack ever made
I got one of these as a gift in the late 90's, and it's been the best pack I've ever owned. I've been using it on an almost-daily basis, and I don't think it's even close to wearing out. It's been hiking with me everywhere, from the National Arboretum to New York City. It used to carry my nice, clean work clothes on grueling 12 mile bike commutes. It's been my school book bag, and now carries essentials to and from work. The amount of money saved from not having to buy other packs could have purchased a much more expensive pack from Duluth (which is what brought me to the site today :)

I do need to say that when it was new, the shoulder straps were very stiff and VERY uncomfortable, and took a long time to break in (once broken in, it's fine. Currently, it's one of the most comfortable packs I've ever owned). Also, for a long time, if I would sweat heavily or had to be out in the rain, the leather would stain clothing (which is what leather does, after all).

Six stars! Best pack ever!

The best thing you will ever buy
12 years ago my parents became tired of purchasing a new backpack for me each school year as each became destroyed with daily use. A friend lent us the Duluth Pack catalog and we haven't looked back since! This backpack has accompanied me from fifth grade through a Master's degree. It's traveled around the world and back and has only *now* developed a small tear in the canvas (which is being factory-repaired for a ridiculously small fee!). I really can't write enough about these backpacks -- This is probably the ONLY product I've purchased that I can UNCONDITIONALLY recommend. They're inexpensive for their quality, even at this price. Buy one (or two!) now. I anticipate mine outlasting me. Review by Philip (Posted on 11/9/2010)
The best most rugged backpack available...anywhere!
I have had this bag since 2002 and love it. Used it for a book bag at college and since then its been all over the country from ski trips, day trips and a great carry on. Buy it, use it, love it. Review by MotoMatt (Posted on 7/22/2010)
Makes a Great Flight Bag
I fly helicopters offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. I've used my Deluxe Daypack for years as a flight bag. It replaced a nylon backpack that wore out in less than a year. I load it down with books and charts; it gets a lot of use, and has held up well. Review by pjwood (Posted on 7/19/2010)
Great Backpack
I have had this backpack since 1998 and I still use it all the time. It's first use was as a book bag for college. Then as a daypack to hike Glacier National Park. Now it's my go to bag for a carry on. It's a great pack to use whenever you need to easily carry those extra items you just cannot do without for a day. After all these years it is a bit faded and the leather is worn, but it is just as usable as the day I got it! Review by breswen (Posted on 7/18/2010)
Great investment
This was our first of many Duluth Pack bags. We have used it for years and now that we have purchased a number of other Duluth Pack bags, our dog uses it as a travel bag. Great for doggie day care and overnight trips. Review by phyllisc (Posted on 7/18/2010)
The only backpack you'll ever need!
This backpack is amazing! My son got it for a graduation present and it looks like new even after a year of college. It is very roomy and of course, very well made. We have no worries about it ever coming apart (even with heavy loads). My son loves the rugged look. It had been our idea to give one to our younger son for graduation when the time came also but after seeing how well it held up we gave him one for his sophomore year in high school because we were so impressed with the first one!
