Duluth Pack - Since 1882

Front Portage Pack - Canoe Pack

The Front Portage Pack is an excellent addition to any Duluth Pack portage bag system. Simply clip the handy bag to the front of your canoe pack and hit the trail. Made in Olive Drab. All other colors made to order.

  • Burly 18-ounce canvas construction.
  • Padded back to keep pointy objects from poking you while cruising down your favorite portage.
  • Clips easily to any Duluth Pack canoe pack with leather shoulder straps. (Also requires Front Portage Pack attachment kit)
  • Large zippered pocket makes access to everyday items a breeze.
  • Guaranteed for life. Made in the USA.

Keep binoculars, extra food, a water bottle, maps, or that beloved wool flannel close at hand while you are paddling, but simply snap the handy bag to the front of your canoe pack when the portaging begins. The clever padded back helps keep those pointy items from poking you while on the trail. Side compression bungees double as extra lashing points. Large zippered front pocket keeps items easily accessible in the canoe or on the trail. This pack requires that an attachment kit be installed on any new or existing pack with leather shoulder straps. Made in USA.

Same Ruged Duribility Review by Rich
Ordered this several years ago with my #4 Monarch and had Duluth Pack install the attachment kit. Everything about the front pack and attach kit is just as rugged as the pack. Have used this on 6 BWCA trips and no complaints. Makes a great "glovebox" for the items I use on the water and or need in a hurry like water filter, rain gear, camera, binoculars, snacks, etc. When attached, it kinda balances your load, but limits your visibility for stepping on the path. If I am on a nice flat portage, it's OK, but if the path is very rough I'll disconnect it from the straps and sling it over my shoulder so it rests on top of my pack or carry it with the handle provided. That works out OK. (Posted on 12/1/2008)
