Must Have For Boundary Waters
Rating
This bag is a MUST have for anyone heading to the boundary waters. It keeps your map dry and right in front of you all the time. I use it to carry my five piece Shakespear Travel Mate 6'6" fishing pole along with a reel, a small tackle box, bug spray and sunscreen. I leave it right on the thwart for all the portages. It works great. If I see a spot that looks fishy I just pull out the pole and start casting. When I'm done, I break it down, stuff it back in the bag and move on. No more tangling fishing rods in the trees on the portage trails. I think I got the bag back in 1994 and it's been going strong and taking abuse from me and the horrid BWCA weather now for 15+ years. Excellent product. Review by Dwayne (Posted on 5/5/2010)
Great for fishing and rain jacket.

I use this bag just about everytime I go out in one of my canoes. It's just so easy to attach to your thwart. I put my fishing box and rain jacket in here, too. I don't take tons of fishing gear so it works out great. I like the map case right there in front of you when your navigating and looking for your chosen campsite. I keep my fishing license in the front cover as well.

Not just for canoes!
Rating
Not a lot of canoeing in the deserts of Australia, but these thwart bags are ideal for socks, etc, inside a suitcase when flying.
They also strap perfectly onto the roll-cage of a ute (pickup to you Northern hemisphere types) or 4x4, for holding tools, etc., out of the way, but just where you can lay your hands on them.
