We took our immensely popular Rambler Pack and scaled it down. In the process we created a super functional day pack with European flair. A roomy, top-loading compartment cinches shut with a drawcord. Topflap secures with two leather straps and roller buckles. Side pockets are spacious enough for a quart water bottle. Need easy access to your binoculars, point-and-shoot camera, wallet, keys, sunscreen or bug dope? Simply unbuckle the handy front pocket. (All this stuff actually fits in the front pocket!) Web shoulder straps.

Made in USA.

This pack was featured in the NBC show Love in the Wild.

Having a love affair with this pack!
I submitted a review in April after having just received my pack, and was impressed in the quality and workmanship upon opening the package. Now after having carried it on several snow shoe outings and hikes, Im even more impressed. I did use Nikwax brand of waterproofing ( cloth and leather ) on the bag and straps and even in a late spring record snow fall for Alaska, this thing shed water and snow like a duck's backside. i tend to " over pack " and the roominess of the main bag is more then ample for all my gear. Several times folks have commented on the "coolness" of this pack and asked Where did i get it. I did add a piece of closed cell foam pad ( cut to fit ) to slip in the pack so that pointy/ hard items wont rub against my back. I am extremely pleased with this pack !

I would highly recommend this pack for serious hikers, trekkers, backpackers and for everyday use, and ... if ya want to be " COOL "

service and product is top notch
Less then a week from placing my order and I received my pack. This is truly an "OLD SCHOOL " piece of equipment !! I opened the box ... and was immediately impressed wit the workmanship, the attention to detail and the quality of this pack. I have been backpacking since age 10 ( i am 69 ) and still at it. I haven't seen this level of quality in years! I have it fully loaded and will be taking out for a trial snowshoe hike tomorrow and can hardly wait. Im hoping to get 69 years of use out of this pack. Thank you for a great piece of gear! Review by ALASKA BILL (Posted on 4/26/2013)
Best Bag For The Outdoorsman
Awesome pack, it will last you forever its the perfect bag for ice fishing, hunting, and camping. They do a really heavy duty, quality job at Duluth Pack! Review by MuskyHunter (Posted on 1/9/2013)
Lives up to the Duluth Pack reputation!
I bought my Wanderer just over a year ago. At that time I was little skeptical over spending the $ on the pack. I don't know why, since I already own several other Duluth packs and they are all fantastic.

Since I purchased mine (I went waxed canvas). I have been only pleased with this pack. It has been all over the US and Europe as well now. This has become my go to bag for almost any occasion. Work trips to other states, trips to the gun range, day pack for glacier hiking, thwart bag for a canoe trip; the list goes on and this pack performs admirably.

The side pockets are perfect for holding a Nalgene bottle. The front pocket holds me Nexus 7" tablet and sunglasses with room for a small notebook and deck of cards too. My only complaint is that I will the main compartment were a bit taller, maybe 3-4" or so. It would really let you capitalize on the versatility of this bag.

In the end, it has been a solid purchase. and I do not regret it one bit. In the last year mine has been dragged over rocks, soaked with water and frozen solid. I am pretty sure it is just getting broken in. I expect this will last for decades to come.

Best Pack and Best Service.
This is a well made pack. It saved my back from injury in an ATV accident. What damage was done to the pack was repaired by the great folks at Duluth Packs. Again the best. Review by Keith (Posted on 10/23/2012)
Been a good year
Had this for over a year now. Have used it to day hiked all over southern Applachian trails. Only (small) complaint is the draw string in annoying - coming out and refusing to stay in the plastic draw. The pack itself will probably last a couple lifetimes though. Tuffest pack I've used in years.
While on my back this pack held tite through an ATV accident and saved my back from grapefruit size rocks. Review by Noz (Posted on 8/20/2012)
Deer Camp 2012 - Bring It On!
Hi all!
I have owned two DP "wanderer" packs for nearly five years. I have used my wanderer to travel from Utah to Duluth and further north to deer camp for the past two years and plan on the doing the trek again, this November. I ALWAYS have to stop in to DP at Canal Park on the waterfront of Lake Superior to what they have new in stock. The wanderer is an 'all-around' versatile pack that equaly the reputation of any other pack that DP has in its inventory. In addition, it is a fantastic pack to take as your only 'carry-on' to the aircraft and easily stowes under your seat or in the storage bins above your seat. Do not delay...get the wanderer today! You will not be disappointed...as you will not be for ANY of Duluth Pack's products! Incidentally, I have a 'drafters" bag that I purchased from DP over 13 years ago and it is still going strong. Yes, the leather has weathered and matured (only making it look better), the zipper broke once, and a top panel had to be replaced as the material wore out, but it was all repaired free of charge. The only thing I paid was for the shipping back west. Yes, I am a former Duluthian from the late 50s but will still not purchase any other pack on the market. These packs are not inexpensive. However, I always rely on the old saying, "You get what you pay for." In this instance (and all instances at DP), you DO get what you pay for - unequalled quality and fine craftsmanship!

Built to last
I use this pack for all my Scottish mountains, summer and winter. It's been frozen stiff, dropped down gullies, dragged over rocks and it still looks like new. I would never go back to a modern synthetic backpack.
My Klean Kanteen 64oz wide bottle fits into the side pocket which is great. I got the khaki colour and love it to bits. Comfortable, tough and well built. Perfect!
