Product Review
I've had my waxed cotton computer portfolio for about 6 or 8 years now, can't recall exactly. I grew up using Duluth Packs in the BWCA. Those bags were abused and are still in service. I've been away from Minnesota for a while, but wanted a Duluth Pack for work since I knew how well they were made. I have to say, I've been a bit let down with my bag. In the time I've owned it, I worked from home for three years, so it didn't get used. The rest of its time with me has seen pretty light duty. I'll put a water bottle, some snacks, and notebook and recently, a tablet in the bag. I've gone through two sets of brass D rings and clasps. Probably due to walking with the bag on. More disappointing, I've already had the factory stitch a patch under the leather piece holding the D right on the bag since it tore there. For the last four years, it just rides in the car with me to meetings. When I head back to MN this summer, I'll be stopping by the factory to have them patch a tear that's developed in the bottom corner of the bag. There's also a tear developing where the fabric folds over against the trim. I've wondered if the waxed cotton is less sturdy than the regular canvas. It saddens me to say it, but if I had to do it over, I wouldn't purchase this bag again. I spent years abusing cheap backpacks in middle and high school-cramming them full with books until the zipper would barely close and slamming them in lockers. Several of those bags still work just fine. For as much as this bag cost, I expected better. I've taken care of this bag and I do love it. I just wish it held up slightly better. I'm not ruling Duluth Pack out in the future, as the bags we took to the BWCA couldn't be beat, but this one has been a slight disappointment.

Product Review
When received it came in a simple plastic bag with no protection what so ever to prevent damages. The bag was beat up from ups handling and the leather of the item was slightly damaged. Also, the overall quality otherwise of the item was disappointing in quality of leather on backside of item did not color match exactly and the embossed moose duluth pack emblem on front was made poorly & imperfections in the leather used. This bag is $355 normally & sale price was $255. Its a lot of money to spend & quality and manufacturing was important to me. I felt Duluth Pack making this bag could have better quality standards. I did drive 120 miles to the store with hopes of exchange and this was even worse. They only had one black color on hand & the leather all around on that one was deeply scratched in numerous areas & looked terrible & should not have been on their sales floor for purchase. It looked highly used. I chose to simply make a return with no exchange. I do plan to try again next Black Friday but will drive to their store and hand select this bag again with hope of securing a quality purchase. All I can say is I was hugely disappointed in the quality & care of Duluth Pack store & their wanting to salvage my purchase. It seemed like they didnt care & didnt want to make time to make purchase a good one. Email communications with the manager Kelly was also poor. Last email I sent asking for her verify stock on hand before I made the road trip went un-responded by her.
