Most who live in the Midwest know what green bean casserole is and that it is a traditional dish at all large family gatherings. With Thanksgiving just around the corner, we have found three unique green bean casserole recipes that need to be on your dinner table next to the turkey and mashed potatoes. These recipes will not disappoint and have your taste buds going crazy.

Ham and Green Bean Casserole

This classic green bean casserole recipe with ham is an easy recipe that can be whipped together quickly during the busy holiday season. This recipe can be found on julieseatsandtreat.com, has a prep time of 20 minutes, a cook time of 30 minutes, and creates four servings.

Ingredients

  • 1 – 1 ½ pound of fresh green beans
  • ½ Lb. ham chapped
  • 1 22 oz can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/3 cup water
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 1/4 tsp paprika
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 2 Tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Cook green beans. Drain and add to the baking dish.
  3. Sauté onions in butter. Add to baking dish.
  4. Add ham to the baking dish and mix everything.
  5. Combine cream of chicken with water, sour cream, paprika, salt, and pepper. Pour over all the ingredients into the dish. Mix.
  6. Add cheese.
  7. Cover dish with foil. Bake in preheated oven for 15 minutes. Uncover dish and bake for another 15 – 20 minutes or until the bean mixture is hot and bubbling.

Cream Cheese & Bacon Green Bean Casserole

We found another great green bean casserole recipe on the This is Not Diet Food website, and we think the title of the website explains it all. This is a quick, easy recipe that will satisfy all your family’s cravings. This creamy green bean casserole is loaded with real bacon bits and topped with Ritz crackers and French’s fried onions. It serves 8 – 10 people and only takes a total of 35 minutes to create.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups of milk
  • 2 oz Lipton Onion Soup and Dip Mix
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 5 cups chopped green beans, frozen
  • ½ cup real bacon bits
  • 1 cup French’s fried onions

Topping

  • 15 Ritz crackers
  • 1 cup French’s fried onions
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 2 tbsp real bacon bits

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Pour milk into a large saucepan.
  3. Add the onion soup mix to the milk and stir it well. Bring to a boil.
  4. Add cream cheese to the pot and reduce the heat to medium. Stir until cream cheese is completely melted.
  5. Add the frozen green beans to the pot and stir until they are completely coated in the soup and cream cheese mixture.
  6. Add ½ cup of bacon bits and 1 cup of fried onions to the pot and still well. Reduce heat to low.

Topping

  1. Place the Ritz crackers in a Ziploc bag and crush. Pour the crushed Ritz crackers into a small mixing bowl along with 1 cup fried onions and the melted butter.
  2. Use a fork to combine all the ingredients.
  3. Dump the green bean mixture into a greased 9 in. square baking dish and spread out evenly.
  4. Sprinkle the topping mixture and bacon bits over the green beans.
  5. Place casserole in the oven for 14 – 16 minutes, until topping is starting to brown.
  6. Allow casserole to sit for a few minutes and enjoy!

Sour Cream Green Bean Casserole

A fresh green bean casserole recipe made with sour cream and sharp cheddar cheese, what more could you ask for! This mouthwatering recipe can feed a crowd. It creates a heaping 14 servings, making this a great addition to any large family gatherings you have coming up.   • 3 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed and steamed
